Understanding ATO Invoice Requirements (Updated for 2026):
- Per ATO guidelines (last major update August 2025 - no changes for 2026): GST rate stays 10%. Registration mandatory at $75,000+ annual GST turnover ($150,000 for non-profits).
- A valid tax invoice is required if GST-registered and customer requests one - for taxable sales over $82.50 (including GST) (must issue within 28 days). Sales $82.50 or less: Regular invoice OK.

Must Include (All Tax Invoices):
1. Words "Tax Invoice" (prominently)
2. Your business identity/name + ABN
3. Issue date (DD/MM/YYYY)
4. Brief description of goods/services (quantity/price if applicable)
5. GST amount separately (or "Total price includes GST" if exactly 1/11)
6. Total payable

For Sales $1,000+ (inc. GST): Also show buyer's identity or ABN.
