How It Works

Every task is priced by business size band (Starter, Core, or Scale) based on your annual revenue and employee count. The price shown on the card is a starting price for that band. During the short scoping step, we confirm the exact scope and lock a fixed price before any work begins. If anything falls outside standard scope (like a catch-up reconciliation or multi-state payroll tax), we'll flag it and confirm the adjusted price with you first. You always know what you're paying before we start.

Whether you need a one-off bank reconciliation to clean up your Xero books, a BAS lodgement before the quarterly deadline, a cashflow forecast to prepare for a board meeting, or payroll tax sorted across multiple states, our fixed-price finance tasks give you access to Chartered Accountant and BAS Agent reviewed work without committing to a monthly retainer. Every task is scoped, priced, and confirmed before work begins.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How is this different from your monthly packages?

Our monthly packages are for businesses that want an ongoing embedded finance team handling everything from weekly bookkeeping to CFO-level oversight, with daily access via Slack and a named team. Finance Tasks are for businesses that need a specific job done well, at a fixed price, without committing to a monthly retainer. You can use one task as a standalone job, or try a task before deciding whether ongoing support makes sense. Many clients start with a task and upgrade to a monthly package once they see the quality.

What happens after I click "Get fixed price"?

You'll answer a short scoping form that takes 2 to 3 minutes. We review your answers and confirm a locked fixed price, usually within a few hours. Once you approve, we start work. No calls required unless you want one. The entire process from clicking the button to receiving your confirmed price is typically same-day.

Can you help if my books are behind or messy?

Yes. If your accounts haven't been reconciled in a while, your BAS is overdue, or your Xero file needs a clean-up, we can scope a catch-up job. We'll assess the state of your books during scoping, confirm adjusted pricing and timeline before starting, and get everything back on track. This is one of the most common requests we receive.

Do I need to be on Xero?

Most of our tasks are delivered through Xero, and we're certified Xero advisors. Xero is strongly preferred because it allows us to work directly in your accounting file, reconcile bank feeds, and post journals accurately. If you're on MYOB, QuickBooks, or another platform, get in touch and we'll let you know if we can help with your specific task.

What if I need more than one task?

Select "Multiple Tasks" during scoping and tell us what you need. We'll bundle the work and optimise pricing. For example, many clients combine a bank reconciliation catch-up with a BAS lodgement, or pair a cashflow forecast with monthly reporting. If you find yourself ordering regularly, we'll suggest a monthly package that covers everything for less per task.

Are there any lock-in contracts or hidden fees?

No. Each task is a standalone engagement with a fixed price confirmed before work begins. No lock-in, no subscriptions, no ongoing commitment, no hidden fees. You only pay for what you order. If additional work is needed beyond the original scope (like a catch-up supplement), we flag it and confirm the adjusted price with you before proceeding.

How fast do you deliver?

Delivery timeframes are listed on each task card. Bank reconciliation is typically 3 business days per run. BAS lodgement is typically 7 business days before the due date. Cashflow forecasts are typically 2 business days per run. Payroll tax is delivered as required. All delivery timelines start once prerequisites (like Xero access and source documents) are received.

How much does a one-off BAS lodgement cost?

BAS lodgement starts from $590 ex GST for Starter businesses (under $1M revenue), $790 for Core businesses ($1M to $5M revenue), and $990 for Scale businesses ($5M+ revenue). This includes full BAS or IAS preparation, reconciliation check, BAS agent review, ATO lodgement, and journal posting. If your books need a clean-up before lodgement, we'll flag it during scoping and confirm any additional cost before starting.

How much does a bank reconciliation cost?

Bank reconciliation starts from $380 ex GST per run for Starter businesses, $520 for Core, and $680 for Scale. This covers full Xero bank reconciliation across up to 3 feeds, including duplicate and miscoding checks and an unreconciled items summary. If your books haven't been reconciled in 3+ months, we may scope it as a catch-up job with adjusted pricing and timeline.

How much does a cashflow forecast cost?

Cashflow forecasting starts from $450 ex GST per run for Starter businesses, $650 for Core, and $850 for Scale. You get an 8-week rolling cashflow forecast with a CEO summary, variance commentary, and week-on-week movement analysis. Delivery is typically within 2 business days. This is our most popular task.

How much does payroll tax lodgement cost?

Payroll tax starts from $290 ex GST for a monthly calculation, $390 for a bi-annual assessment, and $590 per state for historical catch-ups. This price is the same across all business size bands. Final price depends on your headcount and the number of states you operate in. Includes calculation, lodgement, and journal posting.

Who reviews the work?

Every task is delivered by our CPA-qualified finance analysts and reviewed by a Chartered Accountant (CA ANZ) and registered BAS Agent before it reaches you. BAS and IAS lodgements are prepared and lodged under our BAS agent registration. You get the same quality of review that our monthly retainer clients receive.

What do I need to provide before you can start?

Each task card lists the prerequisites. Generally you'll need Xero access (or bank statements if Xero isn't set up), bank feeds connected, and relevant source documents uploaded. For BAS lodgement, you'll also need an ATO agent nomination in place. If you don't have everything ready, we'll guide you through it during scoping.
